
Leonard Rogofsky's love of trading and
strong interest in Taxation combined with the satisfaction he receivea from helping
clients save money and structure their business properly, has led him to a career of
preparing tax returns for traders. Over the years, he has seen trading evolve from a few
individuals buying and possibly adapting some other trader's computerized systems, to its
current state of direct electronic access and varied and constantly changing, unique and
specific methodologies.
Leonard is an IRS Enrolled Agent eligible to practice
before the IRS and has passed four separate IRS examinations in the study of individual,
corporate and partnership taxation and professional ethics. He enjoys completing and
exceeding IRS continuing education requirements in the study of taxation.
Leonard has been preparing tax returns and advising active
traders in tax reduction planning and strategies in excess of a decade. He has prepared
hundreds of returns for active traders and their entities utilizing the newest IRS rules
and laws in the most beneficial manner for their specific and unique tax situation. These
laws and regulations are constantly changing. Prior to starting his own firm, he has
managed the growth of two of the leading tax planning firms specializing in active traders
and has prepared taxes for a high net worth client base of descendants of one of the
original directors of the Standard Oil Trust, who had partnered with John Rockefeller, at
Charles Pratt & Co., a Wall Street accounting and investment firm. He has also worked
with high net worth individuals at Chase Manhattan Bank- Private Banking where he was
responsible for tax planning and compliance for a nationwide client base. In addition, he
has worked at the Bank of New York where he had full accounting responsibility and priced
several mutual funds on a daily basis.
His tax career started nearly two decades ago at the IRS
when he served with the IRS resolving taxpayer problems and researching tax issues in
Dallas. He graduated from the State University of New York at Albany with a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Accounting with a Minor in Economics and continued graduate studies in
taxation at Bernard Baruch College in NYC. |
